Improving Graduation & Retention Rates

Making the jump

As part of the IUB 2030 plan, IU Bloomington is seeking to increase in four-year and six-year undergraduate graduation rates and retention rates for first-year, full-time undergraduate students all into the 7th percentile of AAU public universities.

To do so, IU Bloomington will reenvision a students' first year while providing academic pathways and career assistance on the way to graduation.

Institutional Analytics

The numbers go beyond graduation and retention rates. IU Bloomington tracks other factors such as student outcomes, course enrollment, student transitions between schools or majors, and more.

For example, one academic program will retain students differently than another. Multiple students may transition from one shared major to another. All of this information is used to draw conclusions and improve the overall undergraduate experience at IU Bloomington.
