Florence, Italy
Mohlke, a bassoon performance major, studied watercolor, drawing and art history in Florence.
Leo stayed in a family-run hotel close to the city center with other students and especially enjoyed learning about Renaiisance artists such as Da Vinci and Michelangelo.
Adelaide, Australia
Studying biology, Chen spent a semester at the University of Adelaide in Australia.
She formed friendships with fellow international students and locals during her time in Adelaide, immersing herself in Australian culture in the process.
Nagoya, Japan
Lechner, majoring in International Studies, spent two semesters in Nagoya, Japan studying Japanese language.
Spending her time with Academic Japanese Reading, working part-time in an English conversation café, and travelling throughout the country allowed Lechner to immerse herself in Japan's culture over the course of one academic year.
Funding should not be among the list of concerns for overseas study at IU Bloomington. While most financial aid such as grants and loans may be applied to semester and academic year programs administered or co-sponsored by IU, there are exceptions.
Education Abroad facilitates access to scholarships available for study abroad programs and provides guidance on how to apply traditional financial aid.
Education abroad doesn't always mean taking classes in another country. IU Bloomington offers a wide range of programs including internships, foreign language immersion, and conventional education overseas.

Traditional study abroad
Take classes alongside Irish and fellow international students at the Quinn School of Business at University College Dublin. When out of the classroom, take time to explore the political, economic, and cultural center of Ireland.
