Student Advisory Board

The Undergraduate Education Student Advisory Board (UE SAB) is composed of undergraduate students from a wide range of academic backgrounds and interests across IU Bloomington. Members collaborate on both university-led and student-initiated projects that are considered essential to strengthening undergraduate education and enhancing the student experience.

Through research, discussion, and thoughtful input, the board helps guide decisions made by the Office of the Vice Provost for Undergraduate Education, ensuring that student perspectives are meaningfully represented in shaping academic and campus initiatives.

This session will explore the essential skills and competencies every first-year student should build to thrive in college and beyond. Together, we’ll identify a broad set of expectations and experiences that will help new students make the most of their time at IU from academic readiness and time management to personal growth and campus engagement.

Application Process

Applications are currently closed for the 2025-26 academic year.

Time commitment: Board members are expected to attend monthly meetings throughout the academic year. After their first year on the board, members may also choose to take on additional leadership roles.

Eligibility: Students from all majors and class levels are encouraged to apply. No prior experience is needed, just a desire to make a difference.
