Start Hoosier Strong
First-Year Seminar (FYS-F100) helps new Hoosiers build connections, confidence, and community from day one.
In this 8-week, 1-credit course, you'll join a small group of students led by an IU faculty member and a trained peer leader who understand what it takes to succeed at Bloomington. Along the way, you'll meet people, learn how to navigate campus resources, strengthen your academic habits, and discover the opportunities that make IUB feel like home.
You'll also have access to the FYS House—a dedicated space where students can study, connect with classmates, attend events, and build community throughout their first semester.
Whether you're wondering how to make friends, connect with professors, find support, or simply get the most out of your first semester, FYS-F100 helps you start your IUB journey with confidence.
