Experiential Learning Travel Scholarship
This scholarship helps offset travel costs for undergraduate students participating in experiential learning activities or presenting their work at conferences.
Award Amounts
Award amounts are based on the applicant’s estimated budget and demonstrated financial need. The maximum award per academic year is $800.

Funding is limited, and awards are made on a rolling basis each semester until funds are exhausted. Applications are typically reviewed within two weeks, with funding distributed approximately two weeks after approval.
All IU Bloomington undergraduate students participating in an experiential learning activity are eligible to apply.
Priority is given to students engaged in activities with limited funding options, such as undergraduate research, creative projects, clinical or practicum experiences, and community-engaged learning. Students pursuing other types of experiential learning should first explore the alternative funding resources listed below.
Requirements for Awardees
Recipients must submit a reflection essay within two weeks of returning from their travel experience. Details are included in the award notification.
Funding for the 2025–26 academic year has been fully allocated. We encourage you to check back in July for information on Summer 2026 funding opportunities.
