Experiential Learning Development Grant
Assists faculty and staff in the development and implementation of activities that meet the criteria for an ELA designation. Grants may be used to:
- Design a new curricular or co-curricular experience to be submitted for ELA designation, with priority given to those projects that will become self-sustaining after initial funding period, or
- Enhance current curricular or co-curricular offerings to meet the criteria for ELA designation, increase quality of experience, and/or remove barriers to participation.
Award amounts
Faculty and staff are invited to submit a funding proposal for up to $3,000, which may be used to:
- Provide direct support to students engaged in an ELA
- Support faculty, graduate students, and staff in their professional development
- Provide training and technical assistance; including stipends for guest speakers
- Purchase software or supplies to support projects developed alongside community partners
- Offset costs for field trips and site visits
Application deadlines
The priority deadline for 2026-27 academic year opportunities is May 10, although applications will be considered on a rolling basis until funds are exhausted.
Requirements for awardees
Faculty who receive an EL Development Grant will be required to submit a summary of how funds were used within a month of completed activity.
